Jonathan, Blake & Nick
Jonathan Gifford
Jonathan is a journalist specialized in the solar PV industry since 2011. He has served as the pv magazine global editor-in-chief since 2014. He has consulted for various solar PV companies on PR / communications, including writing press releases, OpEd / thought leadership articles, White Papers and reports since 2016. During this period, Jonathan has helped shape and execute communication strategies for solar companies and research institutes including Array Technologies, BYD, the Energy Watch Group, SecondSol, Senec and the ZSW. He regularly hosts industry webinars, conferences and events including Intersolar Europe conference sessions, the Energy Transition Dialogue, the World Future Energy Summit, All Energy Australia, pv magazine Roundtables and Energy Storage Europe. Prior to joining pv magazine, he was a reporter and producer at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Jonathan studied politics at the University of Western Australia and Broadcasting at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
Blake Matich
Blake is a journalist and writer with a MA in American Literature and Political Philosophy from Freie Universität Berlin. After gaining experience as a copywriter, Blake began writing about politics and the arts until, in 2019, he entered the energy and tech space. As a journalist in climate technology, Blake has covered everything from solar PV to green finance, and has written extensively about developments in green hydrogen and power-to-x technologies and projects. As an editor at pv magazine Blake reports on the news of the day, edits the magazine for print production and hosts industry webinars.
Nick Angel
Nick is a writer and qualified lawyer with the Bar of New South Wales. He holds a Bachelor of Law and a Master in EU and International Law from the University of Angers. Nick has worked with law firms in Paris, Sydney and in Asia. During his time with the Environmental Defenders Office in Sydney, Nick provided legal advice to landowners in wilderness areas. He is a published author.
